Hello! Me again

Hello! It’s me again. Wait a minute that’s how I started my last post. Well how about this one. Hello! I hope that you are having a wonderful day.  I have been taking pictures of my younger siblings. When you’re taking pictures of a 12 year old boy, an 8 year old girl, a 2 year old, and a 9 month old baby boy, you can have some challenges.  I had my younger sister start to cry because the sun was in her eyes. I had a younger brother who thought that posing for a photo shoot was silly or even sissy. And last but not least I had my baby brother who wanted to cry or spit up through the whole thing.

Purple eye is more photogenic then what I thought.

Here is the one and only Toothie, who claimed that the sun was in her eyes and that she hated dressing up and would rather be riding her new bike. But she is one of the cutest little girls.

Here is my little Miss Rose, aka. 'catbird'.

Here comes my baby boy... Droopy.

Oh! Aren't they cute?!  Don't you think?

So Long, Farewell,
Grace

Meet... Grace

Hello guys! It’s me, Grace, but really my mom just calls me Gracie Poo.
I heard you and it’s not funny.
On this blog I want to write my thoughts on history, family life, and living the good life.

I want to share with you my thoughts, quotes, some inspirational speeches, poems, shorts stories, recipes and my everyday life. And believe or not, I have a funny and even serious side to me.

I can’t honestly say that this is my first blog because I created a blog once. And I had hopes and dreams for that blog; but now, I can’t even find the blog anywhere on the internet and I don’t even remember my password. Hopefully, I can at least remember this blog that I have now started.

I guess ya'll would like to know who on earth is Gracie Poo. This may come as a shock to you but, I am a home schooled country girl of Tennessee, and I am the oldest of five children. And so, for those who were beginning to wonder if I was an only child then your answer is - nope.

One thing that you must know is like I said I am a country girl and I ain’t (haven’t) any good English. Many times I am embarrassed about my English or my southern accent but never enough to get rid of it.

Last year my family and I went to Connecticut. It seemed that no matter where we went (from Maryland and up) everybody asked where we got our accent. Finally, after hearing this a hundred times, my Dad started to tell everybody (jokingly), “Well, we’re from Massachusetts!”.  As funny as we thought it was,  most people just stared at my Dad and never smiled. Dad finally had to tell them that we were from the southern state of Tennessee.

I am now thinking that one of my first blog posts will be on southern grammar.  Like where I am from we say' mater' instead of tomato, or' tater' instead of potato, or we’ll say a unspellable word instead of onions. We like to say that the northreners sent all of their “r’s” down here.

Some times I am known as Soaring Eagle. So, I bet that you are wondering how on earth did I get the name of Soaring Eagle. My siblings and I like to make short films. And we wanted a name to put on our credits, but if we were ever to put our films on YouTube, we did not want the whole world to know our real names.  And so with that being said, I chose Soaring Eagle, my first brother’s name is Purple Eye, and my first sister’s name is Toothie.  I realize that we sound somewhat like Indians but we are not. Those were just some of our favorite ones out of all of the other names that we were considering.

Now, I guess "my fans"  are wondering about my family. Let’s start with my Dad. My Dad is a country boy. He has only lived in the hollers of Tennessee and North Carolina. My Dad is a' Jack of all Trades'. He is an electrician and also has his own business. And then in his extra time, he's working to make  our five acres a hobby farm.

My Mom is a country girl, but she did live in "town" for a while as a little girl and so I can't say that she is a full blooded country girl. Momma being a mother of five, hardly has time to anything but wash clothes and take care of babies.

My first brother, second born, "Purple Eye", is not your average little boy. He dresses like a cowboy every day. I take that back -  he is a cowboy, but only in the mountains of Tennessee. He helps his dad in his business while working on two businesses of his own. My brother owns a walking stick and carving business and a home brewery where he provides ginger ale for family and friends. He is  very busy for a twelve year old. He also gets his name from the many  black eyes he has had in his life.

My first sister, third born, "Toothie", is called this for a reason. She has been missing her two top teeth for what seems like, forever. She likes to play with her youngest sister and play outside with her brother.

My youngest sister, I just call her "catbird". She is a very, very active two year old. She loves the great outdoors and does a wonderful job with her new baby brother.

As for my new baby brother, he is only nine months old.  But we like to call him droopy because he looks like a cartoon character off of a very old series. And as for his hobbies, he likes to sleep, eat, and smile.

Is this too long for a first blog post?  How am I doing for a first time?

There is one thing that I have to ask. And that is will you please send me comments. My Dad has a blog and no one ever leaves comments for him. I have come to the point of leaving comments on my own Dad’s blog.

I hope that you will enjoy my blog from this point on.

Grace of the Southland, Grace, Gracie Poo,

Or whatever you want to call me.
