If Only I Could Tell a Joke
If only I could tell a joke,
I believe that I would be as good as Bob Hope.
If only I could make someone laugh,
Then I would have something to be written in my epitaph.
If I could only be a comedienne,
I would tell jokes like Victoria Jackson can.
O! If only I was funny like Lucille Ball,
I would dance and make jokes. Why! I would do it all.
But, I guess for now I will only listen,
Until I'm as good as Bergen.
